The Universidad del Azuay recently hosted its first Hult Prize, a global entrepreneurship competition where students design business solutions for urgent social issues like education and climate change. This milestone event was a powerhouse of student leadership, organized by a multidisciplinary team from various majors—including "Pedagogía de los Idiomas Nacionales y Extranjeros" (PINE) —who managed everything from logistics to marketing.
Though entirely student-run under a General Coordinator, the initiative was backed by the academic guidance from Antonio Torres and María Ines Acosta, professors of the Faculty of Administration. The event culminated in a final gala where the organizing committee received certificates for their dedication.
For this reason, it is of our greatest pleasure to congratulate our wonderful students from the fourth semester of the PINE major, Laura Cabrera and Nayeli Torres, who partook in this incredible event setting an incredible example for our PINE community, which showcased how interdisciplinary collaboration and leadership can drive global impact, proving that our students are ready to lead change far beyond the classroom.
