Community Project

One of the primary objectives of the bachelor’s program in Pedagogía de los Idiomas Nacionales y Extranjeros is to prepare future educators who are passionate about their students and who will become the one who positively change education. This is the reason we consistently seek meaningful opportunities to immerse students in the teaching world.

Currently, the bachelor’s program is leading a community project in a rural area giving virtual English tutoring to students from single-teacher schools in Girón, a town located 40 minutes from Cuenca. A total of 112 students are advancing in English with these classes, which are held from 11:00 to 11:45 AM on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays. The success of the project so far is the result of the collective efforts of tutors (our students) who carefully plan their lessons, teachers at the rural schools who actively encourage and ensure student attendance, and the ongoing support from the program professors during the application of this.

To conclude, we look forward to successfully finishing this community project and expanding its application to more rural areas and have more beneficiaries.
