In a world full of different major options, how can I say that I am truly suited for one? In my opinion, most of the time, you can’t. When choosing an undergraduate program, many people focus on salaries, benefits, and prestige. So, is teaching just another job?
Let’s be real—teaching may not be your first option when you think, “What do I want to be when I grow up?” But unlike many other professions, teaching provides something they often lack: the power to make a lasting impact. Every day, teachers shape minds and influence students through knowledge.
Teaching can be exhausting. But so is the joy when a struggling student finally understands a concept, or when a former student returns years later to say, “You helped me understand this.” It's a feeling that’s hard to put into words—but if I had to choose one, it would be fulfilling.
From my experience, I can say that teaching is indispensable in life. How can I learn to do something if no one is there to support or guide me?
Teaching is not just about delivering information to a class. It’s about giving life, sharing knowledge, being patient, and—most importantly—being human.
